The gift of friendship.

Little bracelets like these are a great gift idea. They add a touch of sparkle and also work as friendship bracelets, which at this time of the year when we have so many gifts to give, is like killing two birds (or more) with one stone. They are lovely, simple and mostly affordable gifts to those ones that are always there for you.
This one is from my favourite local shop, Honey & Hazel, here in Williamsburg. Their packaging is very organic and friendly to the environment.

Natalia.

Natalia Beber stunned me with this ring. The articulated ring was made in Lebanon by a friend and given to her as a gift. What a gift!

The bracelet of the moment.

I often choose a piece and wear it everyday until I can no longer bear the look of it. Somehow, I doubt that this will happen with my favorite piece of the moment. I'm probably getting repetitive, but I'm still in love with J. Crew and this bracelet is GORGEOUS.

EthiCool Jewellery by Caipora

Caipora is a British independent online boutique brand that celebrates unique and ethical designer jewellery creation. Their pieces explore the well balanced relationship between humans, beauty and nature, both in material and form.

Their new collection called "EthiCool" features the luxe of natural pearls and the wear ability of gold plated recycled silver. The embossed sustainable messages and charms create truly unique designs.
This collection is the result of a collaboration between Caipora and talented sisters Mercia Stela e Paula Santos.

Caipora is also this year's winner of Innovation Award - Ethical Fashion Forum Accessories Award.
Their eco-friendly jewellery combined with beautiful designs and ethical working practice make Caipora what it is today, a modern, fashionable and responsible brand.
It feels good to look great and to know that what you're wearing hasn't affected the environment or the people that work hard to make such gorgeous pieces.

All the pieces are made in Brazil and for that, I'm even more proud of Caipora.

Beg, Borrow or Steal - quite literally

Wearing expensive jewelry is not for everyone. Very lucky are the women that can afford it, but the women that can't shouldn't be left out. The website http://www.bagborroworsteal.com/welcome is a way out! They have been around for a while but when I saw this Alex Woo ring I though it was worth sharing it with you my dear readers. The retail price of the beauty is $2.145, but you can have it for a week at the small price of $67!! Is a great choice for when you have that big party or just want to feel beautiful. You borrow it (for up to 3 months) and then ship it back. Simple as that!

Alexis Bittar

One of the most talented jewelry designers I can think of is Alexis Bittar. His eclectic style and ideas are brilliantly executed and the results are always powerful and interesting pieces. When I'm on fashion shoots I always check the jewelry that is being used by the stylists, which is also a great way of discovering new designers ( stylists know everything!).  For the Crystal Jin Swimwear shoot I got to wear this gorgeous faceted hydro quartz stone ring. This ring does a really good job at making a statement. This piece is on sale at the moment, so rush to http://www.alexisbittar.com/home.php

Ruby

Since finding out that Ruby is one of my birthstones I developed a slight obsession. Then I browsed and browsed to find Zales. In my opinion is not a modern shop where you'll find cool and edgy jewelry but with a good eye you can find really pretty pieces. Some of the nicest ones are only available online, although, considering that they are very reasonably priced  it might be worth waiting for it and paying for the shipment. Above, one of my favorites.
If you like to take a look at their stores, NYC has a few:

Cancerian birthstones.

Since my birthday is coming up, I looked up at my birthstones and they happen to be some of my favorite stones. The Zodiac sign of Cancer includes three stones: emerald, moonstone, and ruby. In addition to the Zodiac stones, moonstone is listed as the Planetary stone for Cancer and sapphire as the Talismanic Stone.
